Early this summer I had an opportunity to photograph a pair of twin mule deer fawns at Hell's Gate State Park in Lewiston, Idaho. The pair appeared to be orphaned as there was no doe in the area that I could see. The fawns were old enough to be weaned and were calmly foraging in the park and paid little attention to me. I was able to spend several minutes observing and photographing them in the early morning light. I loved the "fuzziness" of their spotted coats and especially their ridiculously large ears which prompted the title.
