I am an avid bird watcher and every January I participate in an official eagle count in my area. Our route travels along the Snake River into the Hell's Canyon Recreation Area. This is a rugged area of steep basalt canyons and tall mountains and both bald eagles and golden eagles can be found there. This view is from an area called Couse Creek that empties into the Snake River and looks into the canyon beyond. Many times I have seen bald eagles soaring here. The awesome view and the presence of the eagles inspired this painting.
