As I was out on a late afternoon walk one winter a flock of cedar waxwings descended upon
some hawthorn trees and began voraciously gulping berries. Their antics as they hung from
the branches to pluck choice berries was delightful as was their constant calling. The late
afternoon sun created a warm glow on their feathers that I tried to capture in this painting.
